The Application Deployment Perplexity PDF Print

Sure customers buy and make purchasing decisions based on advanced application features, but what happens after the contracts are signed?

Time and time again I follow-up with customers on how the deployment of advanced applications such as; Avaya one-X Mobile or Avaya one-X Portal is favorably impacting their business. The story is always the same: "We've deployed it to our initial group and they love it, but we've moved on to other projects. We are just too busy and have no budget for a complete enterprise deployment." Many of these customers purchased advanced applications based on future requirements or part of a total solution (never planning for a complete enterprise roll out). With IT organizations squeezed to implement, support and manage EVERYTHING no wonder powerful Avaya applications never get completely implemented. So what is an IT person to do ? Work with Quagga! (shameless plug) but also layout an advanced applications committee (yes with individuals outside IT) that can assist and share ideas on how advanced applications can benefit their business unit. This mindshare will not only benefit IT in proper planning but guess what? These individuals will also assist in funding when it comes time!

3 Steps to Application Success

  1. Setup an advanced technology committee with various business units to help evaluate technology and support funding
  2. Plan demo days for your end users to demonstrate applications
  3. When purchasing applications obtain a price on what a complete enterprise rollout would cost
